60th anninversary of the First ever treble in Scottish football
It is said that it takes a special type of man to be a Rangers player. That being the case as it undoubtedly is - then it takes a man a cut above the best to be Rangers Captain. Rangers Captains are men of stature, men who command respect, a focal point for the entire Rangers family. It is probably the case that not everybody who has been privileged enough to have Captained Rangers will fit all of those criteria but there is no question that Jock Shaw does; and then some. Jock Shaw Captained Rangers in one of the most revered Royal Blue teams that have existed. The Iron Curtain defence, of which he was a stalwart member, will be remembered forever as the back line of a truly great team. The names Brown, Young, Shaw, Cox, Woodburn, McColl are immortalised within the fabric of Rangers Football Club, both as individuals and as a unit and each have their rightful place among the galaxy of legends that have represented our great Club.
